IELTS Speaking Part 1 : Use of grammar and lexis

Under the Assessment Criteria for all parts of the Speaking test, candidates are assessed on range of grammar and lexis. To get a higher band for grammar, candidates need to demonstrate an ability to use complex structures. For lexical resource, they need to show flexibility, awareness of style, collocation and ability to use less common vocab.
Look at some answers of part 1 questions and identify which is a better answer.
What is your favourite food?
Answer 1 I really like food. My favourite food is chicken and rice. I don’t like vegetables very much but I try to eat them because they’re healthy. Answer 2 I love all kinds of food.
