Model Answer (Using Balanced View) Discipline is a growing concern area in schools, while some people believe that parents are accountable for their child's discipline, some others feel that teachers are responsible. In my opinion the role of teachers is equally important as that of parents to keep children disciplined.
On one side of the argument, it is believed that the role of teachers is very important in inculcating discipline to students. The main reason for this opinion is that children spend a considerable amount of their time with teachers. Children are like a piece of paper, and they are quite ignorant. It is a responsibility of a teacher to make them learn several important aspects of life such as discipline. For example, in many schools, teachers punish students for mischievous behavior; by making them run around the campus, or stand around the classroom. Thus, it is easy to see how teachers make children learn discipline and ensure that they do not repeat their mistakes again.
On the other hand, there are people who argue that parents have a greater role to play. According to them, parents are the first teachers for every child, since they spend their entire time with parents until they go to school. For example, several parents make sure that their child does not create any kind of discipline issues through several means like punishment, storytelling, activities, and games. Moreover, students acquire parental genes, and they are under the control of their parents most of the time. Therefore, it goes without saying that this argument is credible and realistic.
In conclusion, it is difficult to determine whose role is most important since every student is unique, and both teachers and parents are equally accountable to the discipline acquired by children.
